Important Information on New Legislative Districts

A recent presentation on Wisconsin's new state senate and assembly districts by former State Representative Penny Bernard Schaber drew an audience of almost 70 people. Candidates for state office also were introduced and highlighted their key issues.

What’s Your Question?


The League will be conducting interviews with candidates of both the 8th Congressional District and state legislative positions. If you have questions to suggest for either the congressional or the state legislative candidates, we encourage you to send them to action@lwvappletonfoxcities.org soon. Questions must address issues rather than campaign topics, and be directed to both candidates. The League reserves the right to combine related questions, and screen for appropriateness and civility.

Sustainability and Resilience: Fox Cities Green Initiatives

September 16 

6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Good news to share at the September 16 program on several of Appleton’s “green" initiatives and other Wisconsin success stories while discussing how we can build capacity across jurisdictional borders. “Sustainability and Resilience: Fox Cities Green Initiatives” will take place at the Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes, Inc. facility. Affordable Senior Housing
This program was changed to virtual due to a Covid outbreak at Brewster Village, and the facility tour was cancelled. The program was recorded and is available for viewing on the League’s YouTube channel HERE.

Environment Justice: Problems and Solutions
LWV of Appleton-Fox Cities was one of more than a dozen local Wisconsin Leagues to co-sponsor a virtual program hosted by LWV of the La Crosse area titled "Achieving Environmental Justice in Wisconsin" held on February 13.  Click HERE to view the recording of the program on the LWV La Crosse Area YouTube.
