Vote No This November: Wisconsin Statewide Constitutional Amendment
Wisconsinites know that we’re stronger together! Come this November, Wisconsin voters will have a constitutional amendment question on their ballot that aims to divide us and pit us against our neighbors all while diminishing our freedom to vote.
The question would erode our voting rights by changing the language of our state’s constitution related to voter eligibility from “every” citizen to “only” citizens.
No matter where we were born or what language we speak, all eligible Wisconsin voters are afforded the right to cast a ballot and make their voice heard. Wisconsin already has safe and secure elections with safeguards in place to ensure only eligible voters are voting. This amendment is just a way for them to create a problem that doesn’t exist and use fear as a tactic to further divide us. It could open the door to a more complicated registration process and discriminatory practices against thousands and thousands of eligible Wisconsin voters.
This is the fifth confusing constitutional amendment legislators placed on the ballot this year. Instead of focusing on their real work—passing laws and working with the governor—state legislators are pushing harmful, wide-sweeping questions onto our ballots. But this fall, Wisconsinites have the power to reject these divisive measures.
Let's come together this November to elect a legislature that will represent us and close the door once and for all on these harmful amendments. Vote NO!
