Upcoming Candidate Forum
The League has organized a Candidate Forum for Appleton City Council District 11 held to inform voters about candidates and their stands on issues before the February 18th primary. The League is nonpartisan and does not support or oppose political parties or candidates for public office.
 
The Candidate Forum will take place on Tuesday, February 11, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at  First Congregational United Church of Christ, 724 E. South River Street, Appleton in the Fellowship Hall.

Questions for the candidates from attendees will be accepted. Submit questions ahead of the forum to voterservice@lwvappletonfoxcities.org

Reproductive Healthcare in Wisconsin

Navigating reproductive and abortion care in Wisconsin since the 2022 Dobbs decision has hinged around an 1849 law, full abortion prohibition, and court rulings. The League program assessed the current status of this critical issue in an informed, unscripted and compelling discussion. The program was recorded and is available for viewing on the League’s YouTube channel HERE.

Sustainability and Resilience: Fox Cities Green Initiatives
 Monday, September 16, 2024
Significant changes and investments toward goals for clean energy, lower emissions, and updated facilities are underway in the Fox Cities. In addition, collaborations and information sharing among communities and independent organizations all with green initiative focuses are making an impact.

Recent Town Hall

 








Four state legislators representing the Fox Valley area participated in a Legislative Town Hall hosted by LWV Appleton-Fox Cities in collaboration with the League of Winnebago County. A recording of the Town Hall may be viewed HERE.

Legislative Town Halls afford members and others a chance to engage in conversation with our area's state legislators on topics of interest to voters, and learn what their priorities are for the current session.
