We know how important it is for voters in this election to take the time to get informed about candidates and vote for officials who will protect both democracy and the issues which are at the heart of the League's and ESTHER’s work. Handwritten notes on postcards have been proven to be successful in increasing voter turnout. The League's and
ESTHER’s voter engagement efforts are nonpartisan.

A July 28 article that appeared in The Post-Crescent concerning candidate forums for the 19th State Senate District included a comment by Rachael Cabral-Guevara indicating why she did not participate in the League of Women Voters forum. LWV of Appleton-Fox Cities and LWV of Winnebago County jointly drafted a Letter to the Editor to set the record straight concerning what the League means when we say we are nonpartisan. Did you know that any registered Wisconsin voter can Vote by Mail? An absentee ballot is not just for people out of town. It's convenient and guarantees you'll "turn out" to vote.
UPDATE FOR AUGUST 9 PARTISAN PRIMARY ELECTION: Due to new rules, plan to return your absentee ballot by mail or by delivering it in person to your clerk's office — using a drop box is no longer an option. Voters must return their own absentee ballot. Voters with disabilities may ask for accommodations to return their ballot. If you have questions about these changes, contact your municipal clerk.
